Recycling

Recycling is a big part of my family's life.  We were probably the first family in the neighborhood to ask the city for an extra recycling bin and remove a regular trash bin.  Every bit of trash is scrutinized to determine where it should end up.

If left-over food can't be utilized by us or our pets, it is composted, along with any scraps from vegetables.  Dryer lint is also collected for the compost bin.

Whenever possible, I try to purchase items that don't have packaging or less of it.  I try to reuse what I can.  For instance, I reuse baby food jars for storing beads for my hand-crafted jewelry.

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my new site on environmental acts!

Being conscious of my actions on the environment is a daily part of my life.  Ways that I maintain this consciousness on a regular basis include being a vegetarian.

Recycling regularly is another significant environmental act I exercise regularly.

I will be talking more about these practices and others that I follow, along with providing resources and tips.
